The bat, the birds,and the beasts
蝙蝠、鳥(niǎo)和野獸
There was a big fight between the birds and the beasts. The bat did not join in the fight.
鳥(niǎo)與野獸宣戰(zhàn)，蝙蝠沒(méi)有參戰(zhàn)。
Some birds said to the bat, "Come with us." But he replied, "I am a beast."
鳥(niǎo)對(duì)蝙蝠說(shuō)：“加入我們吧�！彬鸹卮鹫f(shuō)：“我是野獸�！�
Later on, some beasts said to him, "Come with us." But he replied, "I am a bird."
后來(lái)，一些野獸對(duì)蝙蝠說(shuō)：“加入我們吧。”但是蝙蝠回答說(shuō)：“我是鳥(niǎo)。”
At last the fighting ended peacefully. The bat first went to the birds, and wanted to join in the celebration, but they all turned against him. He then went to the beasts, but was also driven away.
當(dāng)鳥(niǎo)和野獸宣告停戰(zhàn)和平時(shí)，交戰(zhàn)雙方明白了蝙蝠的欺騙行為。蝙蝠來(lái)到鳥(niǎo)類(lèi)當(dāng)中，他們都敵視他，蝙蝠去野獸那里，也被趕走。
寓意 兩面三刀的人，最終不會(huì)有好的下場(chǎng)。
【篇二】
The man and his two wives
白發(fā)男人與他的太太們
A middle-aged man had two wives. One was old, and the other was young. They both loved him very much.
一個(gè)中年男人有兩個(gè)妻子，一個(gè)年輕，一個(gè)年老，她們都非常地愛(ài)他。
Now the man's hair was turning grey. The young wife felt unhappy about this because it made him look too old.
當(dāng)男人的頭發(fā)漸漸變得灰白時(shí)，年輕太太感到很不高興，因?yàn)檫@使他看起來(lái)顯得很老。
So every night she used to comb his hair and pick out the white ones.
于是，她每晚幫他梳頭時(shí)都拔去一些白發(fā)。
But the elder wife was glad to see her husband growing grey, for she did not want to be mistaken for his mother. So every morning she used to comb his hair and pick out the black ones.
但是，年老的太太很高興他的男人變老，因?yàn)檫@樣自己就不會(huì)被錯(cuò)認(rèn)為是他的媽媽了。于是，每天早晨幫他梳頭時(shí)都拔去一些黑發(fā)。
The consequence was the man soon found himself entirely bald.
結(jié)果，不久后男人發(fā)現(xiàn)自己變成了禿子。
寓意 遇到壓力的時(shí)候，我們不能一味地退讓?zhuān)駝t很快會(huì)無(wú)處可退。
【篇三】
The lion and the mouse
獅子與報(bào)恩的老鼠
When a lion was asleep, a little mouse began running up and down beside him. This soon wakened the lion. He was very angry, and caught the mouse in his paws.
獅子睡著了，有只老鼠在他的周?chē)郎吓老�，很快吵醒了獅子，獅子很生氣，一把抓住了老鼠。
"Forgive me, please." cried the little mouse. "I may be able to help you someday." The lion was tickled at these words. He thought, "How could this little mouse help me?" However he lifted up his paws and let him go.
“饒了我吧，”老鼠請(qǐng)求說(shuō)，“也許有一天我能幫上你的忙呢�！豹{子覺(jué)得很好笑，他想：“這只小老鼠怎么能幫上我的忙？”但他還是抬起爪子放他走了。
A few days later, the lion was caught in a trap.
不久，獅子被陷阱困住了。
The hunters wanted to take him alive to the king, so they tied him to a tree, and went away to look for a wagon.
獵人們想將活獅子獻(xiàn)給國(guó)王，就把他捆在一棵大樹(shù)上，然后去找馬車(chē)。
Just then the little mouse passed by, and saw the sad lion.
這時(shí)，老鼠路過(guò)這里，看到了絕望中的獅子。
He went up to him, and soon gnawed away the ropes. "Was I not right?" asked the little mouse.
他走過(guò)去，很快啃斷了繩索，說(shuō)：“我雖小，可是我也能幫上你的忙�！�
寓意: 有些朋友也許平時(shí)看似微不足道，但卻有可能在我們身處困境的時(shí)候提供巨大的幫助。
