　　A smile, as the proverb has it, is the shortest distance between two people. In other words, a smile could serve as a bridge to connect two people and shorten the distance between two hearts. Simple as the remark may sound, it conveys a thought-provoking notion that we should always be friendly and polite to other people.

　　First and foremost，a smile proves to be the most effective way to break the ice between two strangers. In addition, being warm-hearted and friendly could promote mutual understanding and friendship. Those who always wear a warm smile are sure to be more popular than those who treat others with coldness and indifference. Zhu Dan is a case in point. She is said to practice smiling in front of the mirror for hours everyday before walking up onto the stage. Finally, she becomes one of the most famous hostesses in China.

　　To conclude, nothing can be more effective than a warm smile in bringing people closer. Hence, it is advisable for people to open their mind and treat others with sincerity and warmth. Only in this way can we win more friends.
