George comes from school on the first of September.
"George, how did you like your new teacher?" asked his mother.
"I didn't like her, Mother, because she said that three and three were six and then she said that two and four were six too....."

"喬治，你喜歡你們的新老師嗎?" 媽媽問。

【篇二】 the lion and the fox
the lion once said that he was sick on his death bed. So he asked all the animals to come and listen to his last wishes. the goat came to the lion’s cave. He stood there and listened for a long time. then a sheep went in. Before she came out, a rabbit entered to hear the last wishes of the king of beasts. But soon the lion seemed to recover, and went to the mouth of his cave. He saw a fox waiting outside. “Why don’t you come in?“ asked the lion to the fox. “I beg Your Majesty’s pardon,“ said the fox, “I have seen many animals enter your cave, but none of them come out. Till they come out again, I prefer to wait outside.“

一頭年老的獅子聲稱自己病得要死了，他告訴所有的動物來聽他的臨終遺言。 一只山羊進入獅子的洞穴，并一直留在那里，接著一只綿羊也進去了。之前，一只兔子也曾進去聽這獸中的臨終遺言。 但是不久，獅子好像康復(fù)了，能走到洞口了，他看到狐貍站在洞口，就問：“你為什么不進來呢?” “尊敬的殿下，”狐貍回答說，“如果我沒發(fā)現(xiàn)只有進去的腳印，沒有一個出來的腳印，我也許會進洞去�！�

Once upon a time two peasants attempted to pass each other and their sledges became entangled. One cried, “Get out of my way; I must get to the town as quickly as possible;” and the other said, “You get out of my way; I must get home as quickly as possible.”
Thus for a long time they disputed. A third peasant saw it and said, “If you are in such a hurry, then each of you gives way a little.”

有一次，兩個農(nóng)夫正要交臂而過，他們的雪橇卻勾在一起了。一個農(nóng)夫嚷道：“給我讓路，我要盡快趕到城里去呢�！绷硪粋�說：“你給我讓路，我得盡快趕回家去�！�
兩人就這樣沒完沒了爭執(zhí)不下。第三個農(nóng)夫看到了說：“既然你們兩人都這么急，那就各自退讓一點吧�！�
