　　注：表示請(qǐng)求、建議或征求對(duì)方意見(jiàn)時(shí)，用Would you…? 比用Will you…?更婉轉(zhuǎn)。如：

　　Will/Would you please keep the door open?請(qǐng)讓門開(kāi)著好嗎?

　　Will/Would you go with me?你愿意和我一起去嗎?

　　表示真理或習(xí)慣：慣于，總是

　　Oil will float on water. 沒(méi)總是浮在水面上。

　　She will listen to music alone in her room for hours. 他獨(dú)自在房間里聽(tīng)音樂(lè)，一聽(tīng)往往就是幾小時(shí)。

　　He would get up early when he lived in the country. 他住在鄉(xiāng)下時(shí)總是早起。

　　表示要求：一定，必須

　　You will report to me afterward. 你稍后一定要向我報(bào)告。

　　表示猜測(cè)：可能，大概

　　This will be the house you’re looking for. 這大概就是你找的那所房子了。

　　I think he would accept the invitation. 我想他會(huì)接受邀請(qǐng)的。

　　表示功能：能

　　This auditorium will/would seat one thousand people. 這個(gè)禮堂能容納一千人。

　　would like表示愿意

　　I would like to have a word with you. 我想同你說(shuō)句話。

　　Would you like a cup of tea? 請(qǐng)你喝杯茶好嗎?

　　would rather…than…寧愿……也不愿……

　　I would rather fail than cheat in the examination. 我寧愿考不及格，也不愿意考試作弊。

　　would與used to的比較

　　(1) 兩者都可以表示過(guò)去經(jīng)常做某事，�？苫�換。如：

　　When I was young I used to/would get up early. 我年青時(shí)經(jīng)常早起。

　　(2) 下列三種情況要用used to，不用would：

　　◇強(qiáng)調(diào)與現(xiàn)在的對(duì)比時(shí);

　　◇在故事開(kāi)頭時(shí);

　　◇與be, stay, belong, live, like , think, know等狀態(tài)動(dòng)詞連用時(shí)。如：

　　He doesn’t work hard as he used to. 他不像以前那樣努力了。

　　We used to swim every day when we were children. We would run down to the lake and jump in…我們小時(shí)候天天游泳。我們會(huì)跑到湖邊，跳進(jìn)水里……

　　They used to live here, didn’t they? 他們以前住在這里，是不是?

　　(3) 與時(shí)間段或與表示“有時(shí)”意義的sometimes, at times, now and then, from time to time等連用時(shí)，宜用would。如：

　　He would sit like that for hours. 他會(huì)像那樣一坐就是幾個(gè)鐘。

　　Sometimes the boys would play a trick on the teacher. 有時(shí)孩子們會(huì)戲弄老師。
