【Do the things you don't like】 A farmer and his son, traveling by horse and buggy up a narrow lane, met a motorist going the other way. There was no room to pass for two miles in either direction. The motorist, in hurry, honked his horn.
'If you don't back up,” said the farmer, rolling up his sleeves, “I won't like what I'm going to have to do.” The surprised driver put his car in reverse and backed up two miles, allowing the horse and buggy to go by.
'What was it you wouldn't have liked to have done back there?” asked the farmer's son.
'Back up two miles,” replied the farmer.

【Flunking Math】 My son, who made the dean's list in his freshman year at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., called home a few weeks after starting his sophomore year as a psychology student.
"Mom," he said excitely, "I have found the answer to surviving college! It isn't the grades that are so important, but the quality of what is learned and how it is applied to daily life. I'm lucky to be having these wonderful experiences!"
"And just what does this mean?" I asked.
"I'm flunking math," he replied.

【A Wolf in sheep's clothing】 A wolf wanted to eat the sheep, but he was afraid of the vigilant shepherd and his dogs. One day the wolf found the skin of a sheep. He put it on and walked among the sheep. A lamb thought that the wolf was its mother because his skin looked like hers. So it followed the wolf. Soon after they had left the dogs, the wolf came at the lamb and ate it up. For some time he succeeded in deceiving the sheep, and enjoying hearty meals.

狼想吃羊,但是他害怕警惕的牧羊人和牧羊犬。 有一天狼發(fā)現(xiàn)了一塊羊皮,便披著它混入羊群。 一只小羊羔把這只披著羊皮的狼誤認(rèn)為自己的媽媽,被領(lǐng)出了羊群。 狼成功地欺騙了羊群,吃掉了小羊羔。
寓意:事物的外表有時候會掩蓋它的本質(zhì),所以我們不能只憑表面現(xiàn)象就作判斷。
