一、教材中的短語
（一）get out of
該短語表示“從...出來；逃避；戒除”。如：
I had to get out of that house in disguise. 我不得不化了裝離開那屋子。
Some men would do anything to get out of the war. 一些人在為避免戰(zhàn)爭而奔波
I wish I could get out of the habit of smoking. 我希望我能改掉吸煙的習(xí)慣。
【注意】
1、get out of常和way搭配使用，即：get out of one's way，表示“讓開；讓路”。如：
Get out of my way or I'll ride you down. 讓開，否則我會把你撞倒。
2、get out
該短語其實是get out of的副詞性的表達，后面不再接賓語。如：
If you won't keep quiet you can get out. 你如不保持安靜，就請你走。
（二）get on with
該短語表示“與某人...相處；繼續(xù)做”。如：
I find it difficult to get on with your sister. 我覺得和你的姊姊難以相處。
Cut the chatter and get on with your work! 別嘮嘮叨叨了，繼續(xù)工作吧。
【注意】
get on with的副詞性的短語是get on，表示“相處；進展”。但是，該短語也可用作介詞性的短語，后接交通工具，表示“上車等”。如：
He's sure to get on in the world. 他一定會出人頭地。
She got on the bus and picked a seat up front. 她上了公車，找了個最前面的座位。
（三）get off
該短語表示“從...下來；逃避”。如：
The train pulled in and all the passengers got off. 火車進站了，所有的乘客都下了車。
She tried to get off doing this kind of work. 她試圖擺脫干這一類工作。
（四）get over
該短語表示“克服；恢復(fù)”。如：
He has got over the language barrier. 他已克服了語言障礙。
She has never really got over the accident. 經(jīng)歷了那個事故，她從來沒有真正恢復(fù)過來。
（五）get through
該短語表示“接通電話；通過；做完”。如：
I rang you but couldn't get through. 我給你打電話，但沒有打通。
We had to get through the narrow opening sideways. 我們不得不側(cè)身穿過這狹窄的通道。
When you get through with your work, let's go out. 你完成工作后,我們出去吧。
二、更多常用短語
（六）get to
該短語表示“到達”，to時介詞。如：
Keep straight on until you get to the church. 一直朝前走就走到教堂了。
（七）get up
該短語表示“起床；起立”。如：
We will get up early and do some housework. 我們將早起并且做點家務(wù)。
Get up on your hind legs and do some work! 站起來干點活兒吧!
（八）get around
該短語表示“規(guī)避；說服”。如：
It's wrong of you to get around the regulation. 你存心規(guī)避規(guī)章制度是不對的。
I got around my father to lend me his car. 我說服了父親借車給我。
（九）get away
該短語表示“逃脫；離開”。注意當(dāng)表示“逃脫”時，常用作：get away with。如：
Do you think you can get away with it? 你認為你能逃避責(zé)罰嗎?
I hope to get away early in the morning. 我希望一早就動身離開。
