Sportsmanship

Sportsmanship means the right spirit

for people who are taking part in any sport or playing any game.

Everybody knows that a real sportsman would never dream of cheating in a game.

He always plays fair and follows the rules of the game.

He takes the game seriously. He is keen to win,

plays with all his energy to beat his opponent,

and expects his opponents to be as serious as he is.

He will play a losing game with dignity.

An unsportsmanlike player will often lose his temper when he is losing,

like a spoilt child.

The true sportsman keeps in good humor even when he is defeated.

The final test of a real sportsman is whether he can take defeat well.

If he is defeated and congratulates the winner,

he has indeed the true sporting spirit

運(yùn)動(dòng)員精神

運(yùn)動(dòng)員精神是

相對于那些參加各種級別的運(yùn)動(dòng)會，并盡力參加每一場比賽的用動(dòng)員而言的。

所有人都知道真正的運(yùn)動(dòng)員從不奢望在賽場上靠作弊取勝。

他總是行為正直，遵守比賽規(guī)則，

并且認(rèn)真地進(jìn)行比賽，他渴望取勝，

全身心地投入以擊敗對手。

同時(shí)，他又期待對手像他一樣嚴(yán)肅地對待比賽。

即使他對比賽沒有信心但他還是帶著尊嚴(yán)參賽

一個(gè)不稱職的運(yùn)動(dòng)員在比賽失敗時(shí)會大發(fā)脾氣，

像寵壞的孩子似的。

而真正的運(yùn)動(dòng)員即使被擊敗了，還照樣保持幽默的態(tài)度。

檢驗(yàn)一個(gè)運(yùn)動(dòng)員的真正標(biāo)準(zhǔn)是他對待失敗的態(tài)度。

假如他被擊敗時(shí)，仍真誠地向獲勝者表示祝賀，

那他就完全具備了成為一個(gè)真正的運(yùn)動(dòng)員的品質(zhì)了。

Blue Planet

We all have a common home.

She provides us with enough food, enough water and enough living room.

We get everything from nature to live better,

but we don't do anything to protect her.

Now the air is polluted,the earth is poisoned,

water is unsafe to drink and rubbish is burying the civili- zation that man owns

Our environment is being polluted

faster than nature and man's efforts can prevent.

Time is bringing us more people,and more people will bring us more industry.

So many trees will be cut down,and more large cities will be set up.

Lots of waste material,in turn,is produced and harms the environment.

So some experts declare that the balance of nature is being upset,

so that the very survival of man is in danger.

What can solve this growing problem?

The answer is that we must control population growth,

forbid people to cut down trees and pour waste water into rivers and so on.

If we do this,the environment will become clean,

and our lives will be full of happiness

藍(lán)色星球

我們擁有一個(gè)共同的家

她向我們提供足夠的糧食，足夠的水和足夠的空間。

為了生活得更好，我們向自然界索取，

但我們卻從不保護(hù)她

現(xiàn)在空氣被污染了，土地鹽堿化了，

人們不能安全飲水，垃圾埋葬了現(xiàn)代文明。

我們的環(huán)境正在被污染

污染速度遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)比自然界和人類現(xiàn)在盡力制止污染的速度快。

隨著時(shí)間的推移，人口的增加，人們會發(fā)展更多的工業(yè)。

于是大片森林被砍伐，更多的大型城市開始建立。

這一切導(dǎo)致的結(jié)果是:產(chǎn)生大量的垃圾。環(huán)境也被破壞了。

于是專家們宣稱自然界正在失去平衡。

人們的生存環(huán)境正處在危險(xiǎn)中。

如何來解決這個(gè)正在擴(kuò)大化的問題呢?

答案是我們必須控制人口增長的速度,

禁止濫伐和向河里排污

如果我們能夠做到這些環(huán)境將會得到凈化,

我們的生活間充滿幸福。
