Summary
Responsible for all aspects of contract management-related activities, acting to ensure contracts execution in compliance with Vale’s policies and procedure. The candidate will be expected to take a lead role for Contracts management function on their assigned suppliers
Main Responsibilities
?Implement Payments routine (SAP), according to Vale’s payments workflow for external suppliers on time, and maintain accurate and complete contractual records and electronic contract system database as required by internal policies and procedures.
?Advise business area leadership of contractual rights, obligations, risks, etc. Monitor and treat the non-conformities.
?Elaborate contractual Check list form for inspections on the field. Coordinate monthly meeting with suppliers and follow up suppliers performance.
?Work in conjunction with associated functional organizations and suppliers to ensure conformance with contractual obligations, to remain cognizant of problem areas, and work with business area leadership to implement the required corrective actions.
?Compile and analyze contractual data; maintain and archive historical information in accordance with Vale’s regulations and company policies and procedures (contracts compliance).
?Review and evaluate suppliers requests for proposals or revisions to contracts, coordinating submissions.
?Perform risk assessments ensure risk and contract issues are appropriately identified and addressed in a timely manner and offer approaches to mitigate risks, including alternative contractual language, as required.
?Investigate and reconcile significant contract changes involving cost, specifications, schedules, etc.
?Consolidate Inputs for budget cycle purpose.
?Proactively implement controls to ensure proper execution of contract requirements and budget.
?Prepare contract documents authorizing work to commence on a given contract or proposal within established cost, price, and schedule objectives.
?Negotiation of claims and settlements for billing disputes, labor and material costs, may include audit, control, etc.
?Financial understanding and leadership skills to lead large dollar value negotiations.
Profile
?Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in spoken English
?Be Proactive. Must be a self-starter, independent worker and proven ability to work through complex problems and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
?Broad knowledge of and exposure to all phases of contracts management.
?High experience in contract management. Manage many contracts at the same time.
?Organizational skills (work in an organized way).
?High level of professionalism when dealing with external & internal stakeholders.
?To be able to travel domestically, when necessary.
Qualifications
?Minimum Bachelor Level & Master Level is welcome
?Experience (in the area): 10 years
?Formation: Bachelor or Master in Engineering, Administration, Economy, Logistics Management, and related areas.
?Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
?Specific knowledge: Bulk Cargo Port Operations.
