　　表示強(qiáng)制，用于法令、條約、規(guī)章中，意為“必須，應(yīng)該”。如：

　　Candidates shall remain in their seats until all the papers have been collected. 試卷完全收回后，應(yīng)試人才能離開(kāi)座位。

　　在主語(yǔ)是第一、三人稱(chēng)的疑問(wèn)句中征求對(duì)方意見(jiàn)：要不要……?……好嗎?如：

　　Shall I turn on the lights? 我開(kāi)燈好嗎?

　　Shall he wait for you outside? 要不要他在外面等你?

　　表示不可避免的某事：一定

　　That day shall come. 那一天總會(huì)來(lái)的。
