　大眾汽車公司由阿道夫?*創(chuàng)立于1937年，是德國(guó)的汽車生產(chǎn)集團(tuán)，汽車產(chǎn)量居世界排名第五位。大眾集團(tuán)包括有在德國(guó)本土的大眾汽車公司和奧迪公司以及設(shè)在美國(guó)、墨西哥、巴西、阿根廷、南非等7個(gè)子公司。由于大眾車型滿足不了美國(guó)人對(duì)大空間的需要，導(dǎo)致銷路不暢，因此到后來(lái)撤銷了在美的子公司，連設(shè)備一并賣給中國(guó)第一汽車制造廠繼續(xù)生產(chǎn)高爾夫捷達(dá)。使大眾公司揚(yáng)名的產(chǎn)品是"甲殼蟲(chóng)"轎車(由波爾舍設(shè)計(jì))，該車在80年代初就已生產(chǎn)了2000萬(wàn)輛。啟動(dòng)了大眾公司的第一班高速列車，緊隨其后的POLO、高爾夫、奧迪、帕薩特、桑塔納等也暢銷全世界。
公司總部曾遷往柏林，現(xiàn)在仍設(shè)在沃爾夫斯堡。目前有雇員26．5萬(wàn)人，整個(gè)汽車集團(tuán)產(chǎn)銷能力在600萬(wàn)輛左右。2003年，在全球經(jīng)濟(jì)低迷的大環(huán)境下，集團(tuán)銷量總量增長(zhǎng)至501.5萬(wàn)輛（2002年為498.4萬(wàn)輛），占據(jù)全球汽車市場(chǎng)12.1%的份額。在全球的汽車市場(chǎng)－西歐，大約每5輛新車中就有1輛來(lái)自大眾集團(tuán)。
2008年7月24日，歐盟正式?jīng)Q定，批準(zhǔn)德國(guó)保時(shí)捷汽車控股股份公司收購(gòu)德國(guó)大眾汽車集團(tuán)。如果收購(gòu)成功，合并公司將成為歐洲第一、世界前三的汽車企業(yè).
大眾是大眾集團(tuán)（Volkswagen Group）的 品牌之一，其他品牌包括：
- Audi（奧迪）- 在1964年從戴姆勒-奔馳公司買下。
- NSU - 由大眾的奧迪分部在1969年買下，自1977年開(kāi)始就未再使用該品牌。
- SEAT - 1987年開(kāi)始成為主要持有者。
- ?koda - 1991年買下。
- Bentley（賓利） - 于1998年從Vickers公司與Rolls-Royce品牌同時(shí)買下，但之后由于注冊(cè)商標(biāo)權(quán)轉(zhuǎn)移至BMW公司，因此無(wú)法再使用Rolls-Royce品牌制造車輛。
- Bugatti - 在1998年時(shí)買下這個(gè)名字。
- Lamborghini（蘭博基尼） - 于1998年6月12日買下。

- Preparation of presentations and handouts for conferences and meetings
- Key user to business related system

- Administrative support to the team on other ad hoc tasks
